He doesnt have anything against Lexus. Our family has owned many toyota's. He just doesnt like the IS300, because it looks like a civic, its small, and the back is crampy. I almost got a Civic Si before i got my Accord. the main reason why i didnt get a SI was cuz it was too light and small. and well he really likes the new C320. But yea these are the lists of cars that he said i could choose from instead of an IS. RX300, ES300, 3-Series Ci, C320, a used E class, or a used GS300 or a used LS400.

Intake808,
You say that the back of the IS300 is crampy???? Actually according to that independent testing organization (at the IS300 driving event), the IS300 has more leg room than both the BMW 3-series (2nd place) and the Audi A4 (dead last place). I have sat in the back seat of my sister's Audi A4 2.8 quattro. It's not a pleasant experience as there is no leg room whatsoever.

You may want to think about getting a new 2000 GS400. A lot of Lexus dealers are giving big discounts on them and so it's not gonna cost you much more than a fully loaded C320 (I saw one which was $46K). Also, Mercedes cars have dubious reliability during their first year of production (for example - CLK, SLK, M-Class).
