I have the stock Lexus GPS in my '03 IS 300. I bought a Panasonic CD/MP3 player and sirius receiver, and my installers had trouble getting everything to work together. They got the stereo in fine, but they had to disable the GPS to do it. Now they're telling me that the old factory Lexus stereo has to remain in the car and connected to the GPS in order for it to work.

Are there wiring documents or previous posts that can help me with this problem? I've checked and can't find anything off hand.

Thanks in advance,
Brad

As far as I know, the only trouble with Factory Nav and aftermarket HU is the sound, which can be resolved by adding a small speaker for the Nav.

Now, the rear speakers are a pain to get to work since it is 2 actual speakers per channel, powered separately by the factory amp. The factory amp can only be used with stock HU.
So the options are to replace the rear speakers or to get crossovers to get stock speakers to work. It is not worth keeping the OEM rear speakers, IMO.
The front ones are easy since tweeter and mid/bass drivers are in parallel.
