My best friend just ordered a Ferrari 550 Maranello! I don't think I have a chance! I believe he really deserves it though, you would never guess he had a penny to his name. He made partner of a large investment firm @27. Just don't think I can take him in a race. Oh well, hopefully he'll let me drive it!

this is how i view exotic car owners. they buy the car, babies it, and barely put any miles on it. you know, you pay all that money for the priviledge of letting it sit in your garage? if i were rich enough to buy one. i'd stack miles on it and wouldnt give a crap, because i know in a few years ill just sell it and get another, because im loaded. but thats just how i feel.

I don't know why I think a true real Ferrari must be red, not yellow or silver or blue or black but only red. Why don't Ferrari try to make a IS300 fighter also hahaha that will be fun, make it cost like $40000, the cheapest Ferrari ever.

Naw, I'd definitely go for 550 instead of 360 Modena. 360 only comes in an 8 cyl engine with 0-60 time in high 5s, slower than an M3, whereas 550 is a V12 with 0-60 in mid-high 4s. So for the price you're paying for a Ferrari, definitely gotta choose 550 over 360 Modena. I'd rather get a M3 or M5 for the money than get a 360 Modena. I can buy basically 3 M3s for the price of one 360, what a bargain!

A 360 Modena should go 0-60 in 3.9-4.2 I think...

Modena did 0-60 in 3.9, and spider did 0-60 in 4.0. It was one Motor Trend(I know it's a POS, but I subscribed b/c I didn't know anything back then, and there was IS300 article in the magazine....

Well, sorry to say, it's gonna be the Titanium Silver. As for him driving it, it will most likely be almost everyday. He works the Europian stock market so he goes to work at 2:00 am and home by noon. It's a 30 mile commute with little traffic. Trust me, it will get plenty of miles!

He's smart not to get a red one. Red ones look like they're speeding even if they're standing still. Boy, that thing is COP BAIT.

Tarnishing the brand name? Don't worry Porsche already did that with their Boxter. What a mockery to the name Porsche. I'm sure Ferrari's learned from Porsche's mistake.

I dunno about faster...

But lighter and cheaper yes. In fact, I'd rather a have a 355 Berlinetta myself.

Wrong. 550 is virtually identical performance but is a FR v12 rather than a midengine v8. The 550's ride is MUCH more civilized and easier to drive. The engine doesn't wind as much as the 360. The 550 is easily an everyday driver whereas the 360 would beat a man down. As far as pure performance value, you're correct. Factor in appreciation, exclusivity and refinement and your value equation changes.

Hey My freind has Ferrari 360, We will be racing as soon as my tranny is done.. The Ferrari is making about 400 at the motor and I'm make about 420 at wheels now... So I think it will be a good race. I get it a tape when we race but it's not going to be anytime soon.. Maybe in 2 months.. Wish me Luck..
