Hey, we will be redoing our families house and i was thinking of putting in a hydraulic or whatever lift. Does any one kno of any good ones, how much they cost and the clearance and stuff. I kno a lot of DOT netters might be interested if they do their own work.

Thanx in advance

i had thought that a hydro lift at home was illegal and only permitted for commercial business.. that is what i heard from the techs over at Keyes Lexus...tho im sure you could get one if you paid for it.. with money im sure you could get anything.

its NOT illegal!

and i have a catalog i forget what its called but it has tons of all different kinds.

You should look into Scissor lifts...although they dont have the heigth but they do save space and get the job done.

A little more expensive though.

For a new lift, anykind, you are looking at something between...2k - $3500. For a name brand anyhow.

Ebay is your best bet. But here are some sites I found by doing a google search...

http://www.craylifts.com/ -- $3,700 for a 32" lift that looks like it sprouts 8 legs!
http://www.targetlifts.com/ -- This guy seems a bit racist. Exact words -- "Made in America by Americans - NOT IN RED CHINA." wow. Have fun talking to this guy on the phone. You should make bomb noises and see if he has a Vietnam flashback. Only $1,850 though!

the best kind are the scissor lifts cuz i think you don't have to drill a hole in the ground. and it's enough clearance to do most of the things you need to do...

I know in a residential area you cannot have a typical hydraulic lift that u see at pep boys because it's illegal to dig out and recast ur garage floor with the support columns (zoning laws) Your neighbors will report you then ur screwed

That scissors lift I seen on Horsepower TV seems to be ok if you actually have room to store that thing when not in use.
