I want to go to 19's but I don't want to loose my bottom gearing. Anyone know?

Use this http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html make sure your 19" wheel diamiter with new tires are the same as stock and you wont "lose" anything.

Stock 215/45/17

You need

235/30/19 or 225/30/19 will work too.

Play around on the link you'll be ok.

Well, if you go with the recommended size for +2 sizing, your overall change in diamter will be almost negligible. The problem with acceleration comes from the added rotating mass of the 19s.
