My car is throwing an evaporation CEL for whatever reason. So I replaced the o-ring in the gas cap and the CEL still hasn't gone out. Is there a way to reset the CEL so I can see if this is what caused the problem?

Thanks!

So just disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and that should reset it?

disconnect neg terminal. Step on brakes for 30 seconds and then put the neg terminal back on.

And next time do a search.
You're nowhere near a newbie.

yea how much more clear does the operation need to be? Disconnect the - terminal, depress brake pedal for 15 seconds or so just to be sure everything gets discharged and then recconnect it.
