A truly beautiful car is one that looks nice from every angle and every color. There are some cars that are nice looking but when looked at from a different angle their beauty begins to fade (and it looks like a different car). As far as color is concerned, let me give you an example. I can say that the BMW X5 is a nice looking vehicle. Then Friday night I saw a white X5 V8 4.4 from behind... YUCK! It did not look like a $55K car and looked totally different instead..... The IS300 is an exeption I think. I've seen it in every color and from every angle and it was still beautiful to me. So that would be "TRUE BEAUTY" in my Book and its defining lines works to its advantage.. The BMW 3 series is not a bad looking car but only from certain angles. It looks nice in Silver but every other BMW is Silver......Then comes the CL-s... as far as color, it only looks nice "TO ME" only in Black. As far as angle is concerned, it looks eye watering from just about every angle...

In my opinion, another test of beauty is whether or not the car's design withstands the test of time. For example, the NSX still looks good today even though the design is now 10 years old. It also looks good in every color and from all angles.

I think the 2001 Porsche 911 (996)Turbo is an example of a car that's nice looking but does NOT look nice from every angle. I've seen it in person and believe that's the case. Look at last month's issue of Car and Driver (comparison with Aston Martin DB7, Ferarri F360)... The Porsche 911 turbo only got a 7 as far as looks. C/D were not impressed with its design (all subjective ofcourse but anyways)...

Good Point Viggen... Just like the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo and the Lexus SC400 (SC400 from 1992-1995...before they changed its look)....

The Toyota Supra Turbo is nice looking but I don't think its design is timeless like the Twin Turbo Z. When the 300ZX came out, it was ahead of its time (as far as design) and had a clean look that was/is very appealing and that car came out over a decade ago..

Yep I'd say the 300ZX, RX-7, and McLaren F1 all fit into the same category. They have a very clean shape/design with flowing lines. Very tasteful and their designs are timeless..... Unlike the Supra and 3000GT with excess and unnecessary intakes and spoilers..

I dunno about you guys, but I really dislike the look of the Lexus SC....from its inception 10 years ago till now, it still looks horrible to me...w/ or w/o spoiler, theres just nothing you can do to make that thing look good.

I also dislike the boxster, it looks like a ****roach from the back view. I like the 996 Turbo Coupes tho.

Looks arguments never really go anywhere. It is all in the eye of the beholder. I like the way the Nissan 300ZX looks, but I don't see why it is one of the greatest of all time...I personally like the way the MKIV Supras look, though I can also see why others wouldn't like it. I like the IS3's tail lights, others think they look too weird.

EricK, do you mean a car that looks good in every color that it is available in from the factory, or any color period? I mean, I could take a 300ZX, which is a favorite of many and paint it cornflower blue...I certainly think it wouldn't look very good then. But then again, maybe someone likes cornflower blue...

I was referring to every color available from the factory, and was just pointing out that the shape alone is attractive enough that it doesn't need a specific color to make it look attractive. The subject matter of this post is subjective but I was voicing my opinion.

The shape of a 3Z is nice, but cornflower blue would go a loooooong way towards making it unattracive to me. Off to the shop to be repainted...hehehe. I would love to have a MKIV Supra in any damn color under the sky, I'll just be off to get it painted that's all.

I'm surprised you didn't mention your E55.
Thanks.....

To be totally honest, the reason why I didn't mention my E55 as being amongst the most beautiful is because I don't consider it to be.....I don't like the headlights. Ever since the E-class came out I didn't like the headlights and I thought it would grow on me, but it didn't.... I love everything else about my E55 though and that's why I bought it
