I've been searching the forum for this answer but came up with nothing. Wondering if someone can explain how to determine whether a 2IS is Base, Sport, Lux package for the illuminated door sill install.

Please explain in terms of options such as ML, Nav, rear shade, windshield sensor, etc.

Much appreciated!

ML and nav have nothing to do with the other packages on the car.

It's actually pretty easy to tell what a car is (assuming the owner hasn't changed parts around)

If it HAS:
Memory seats
But NOT:
Power rear sunshade
THEN it must be:
Sports package.

If it HAS:
Memory seats AND power rear sunshade
THEN it must be:
Luxury package

If it HAS:
Woodgrain and ventilated seats
But NOT:
memory seats
THEN it must be:
Premium package

If it HAS:
Sport pedals and the X-package wheels
But NOT:
memory seats
THEN it must be:
X Package

If it does NOT have:
Woodgrain, sport pedals, or memory seats
THEN it must be:
base model.

If the car is a 2006 it can't be X package since it didn't exist in 06... and 06 is the only year you really care about any of this stuff for door sill install, since it's plug-and-play on any 07+ model at all that didn't come with them.

(on 06s it's only plug and play on sport package cars... or on Lux cars if you want to change the color of the existing ones)
