Valley Lexus was offering my about $900 off an IS300. Santa Monica Lexus offered me close to $600 off. In other words, whoever you ask, they'll tell you different things. I've heard some people getting $1500 off. Just understand that the invoice on the base model is about $3000-$3500 less than MSRP. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Tell the dealership that other dealers are giving $1500 off, and what they can do for you. If they don't believe you, I can fax over my $900 off contract to you and you can just fax it to the dealership.

Don't have it quite yet - it's on the truck on it's way from Portland - it will hopefully show up tomorrow!

It's yellow & fully loaded, and I haven't yet finished negotiating the final price. In our area, I'd expect to pay at or darn close to MSRP, though (all them microsofties, no offense, of course). I'll post again once I do the paperwork. They are giving me a GREAT price on my trade in, so I will be happy with MSRP!

If you do want one, talk to Jimmy at the Tacoma dealership, he is great. Much more personable than the folks I talked to at Bellevue or Lynnwood. He actually knew what a Type R was...

I'll post again tomorrow once I get the car!

Could you fax your contract to me? E-mail me at the address below and I'll provide a fax number. It would be extremely appreciated!

Thanks!

Annie, could you post what you deal finally swing @Tacoma? I'm waiting for my silver to come into Bellevue dealership and their saying MSRP, like it or leave it. If you do get a better deal, it will mean a lot to me because the Bellevue and Tacoma dealerships are the same company.

Cheers

I just got this response from a dealership near me:

Eric, What we have been doing for our customers is $250 off MSRP and an additional service credit of $500. The service credit would work for you if you did your service with us in Ft. Worth. Keep in mind, we do offer a pick-up and delivery service for people in you area. We also have Lexus loan cars and free car washes.

Thanks,

booker,
I got the same info from them. Have you tried Dallas or Plano to see if they will match? I'm also looking for the 'LP' interior and can't find it anywhere.

I ended up at MSRP for the car - but it's deceiving. I was more concerned about the difference between the two cars, the new IS and my "old" 2000 Type R trade in. So as long as the difference was what I thought was reasonable, I had no problems with them showing MSRP for the total sales price! But realistically, in the Seattle area, you are unlikely to be able to negotiate off MSRP while the cars are so "hot" - our area often is higher than others, unfortunately.

Just be happy Lexus doesn't let them charge a premium, the last three cars I bought were over MSRP! Heck, my S2000 was $5,000 over, and that was a REALLY REALLY GOOD deal for Seattle, especially since I got it a few weeks after they were released!

And yes, I'm on honda-acura.net but I post on the S2000 forum, not as much on the Type R one!
