Sportcross IS 300 off course...!

...this is what wikipedia said about IS 300 in general "...after hitting a high of 30,475 units in 2001,[4] IS sales dropped below the 12,000-unit mark in 2004.." I guess this includes both sedan and sportcross?

It has been rumored to be 3,000 between 2002-2005.

so, how many yellow ones? :-D

I look on all the auto for sale sites about every month and have only found 3 (including mine).

I'm glad I saved a SX if production was around 3k...

I saw a yellow sportcross in VA - gorgeous and sporty.

Mine is black - which is more on the classy side as opposed to sporty!

my 2 attempts at getting figures from Lexus/Toyota failed.

does anyone have connections with the DMV or law enforcement? if we can get a list of total registered VIN starting with the string "JTHED____" then we'll be closer to an actual number.

I think there were more then 3000 produced. I am saying this because the Sportcross have a different side member then the sedan and would require a different die during the stamping process and they cost a great amount from what I've heard. I'll try to ask someone from Japan. I had asked this same question before to someone at work and I got the answer dealing with the die from press.

good (outside the box) thinking.

another approach is to find out how many front passenger fold down seats were made, thus giving us an estimate on how many went into the SX.

As far as I know is the SportCross body used for three car types:
- Altezza Gita
- IS200 SportCross
- IS300 SportCross

So I also think there will be more SX's produced than 3000 in total.
I have asked Lexus how many IS200 and IS300 SX's were produced.

When I hear anything from Lexus I wil let it know.
