okay i had the tanabe smr cat back. got into an accident and messed up the exhaust pipe after the b pipe. i currently have to stock exhaust on the tanabe b pipe with is .5 inch wider. is this a bad thing?

i was planning on getting a hks hiper ti. would a combo of the hks hiper and the tanabe b pipe be a terrible combo and a great torque loss?

and i've heard the exhuast sticks out on the cwest rear bumper which i should be getting within a month. is the stock b pipe with the resonator cut out and shortened about .5 to an inch a bad combo with the hks hiper or the stock exhuast?

wow. that shennanigans sounds like more trouble than good. I'm guessing the Tanabe b-pipe is the same diameter that the HKS axle-back is. If the Tanabe b-pipe fits with your stock axle-back, then it will work with any exhaust since the HKS is meant to bolt up to the stock b-pipe. Just a matter of reversing the principle. If the tanabe pipe bolts up to the stock, the HKS will bolt up to the Tanabe, basically.

I wouldn't mess with cutting out the resonator on the Tanabe. Its already higher flow than the stock b-pipe and the fit is probably really nice as it is. my greddy cat-back sticks out a little past the stock bumper skirt, and it doesn't look trashy at all. I would at least fit it all on first and see how it looks before you go chopping up aftermarket pipes that you can't put back together again. :wink: The HKS tips (at least the drager II) usually sit forward a little farther than other aftermarket axle-backs, so you should be okay, even with the cwest kit you are describing. (but i have no knowledge of bodykits though. try stuff out first. it's just 2 bolts to take the parts off )

yeh thanks but i was wondering if i would lose or gain with the tanabe b pipe with hks hiper ti. and as for cutting out the resonator, i meant on my stock b pipe since i already took it off about a year ago. of course i wouldnt take it off the tanabe b pipe... :lol: even though i regret taking it off the stock b-pipe.... but i saw many selling it for less than a 100 locally
