Three weeks ago, *three*, someone took a golf club and smashed the windshield of my 2 week old IS300! That is sickening enough, but Lexus says that there are no molding parts necessary to replace the windshield in the US! #*%(#%&#%& They are on the slow boat from Japan now, I think.

They should have replacement parts available when they roll out a new product!!!
This makes me sick...

The chair. Give 'em the chair!

Any details you could give us to help with prevention efforts would be greatly appreciated, painful as they may be . . .

It happened down in Austin, visiting parents. Parked on the street, stupid, stupid, stupid. Woke up next morning to glass in the street, looked up and saw the window, ugh. Spent hours vacuuming glass dust out.

It was a nice neighborhood and I assumed people would respect property of others... So wrong. Of course, the police were no help in a case like this. In Dallas, I'm going to put cameras all around outside (and the car in the garage when I get it back).

Lexus really should have replacement parts readily available...

I understood when someone had their IS vandalized back in July, but they should really have these parts by now.

Hopefully someone from Lexus is reading this topic.

i can kind of understand why they wouldn't have parts, i mean the car is still relatively new and its proably smarter to keep parts from other models in stock as they are most likely to be needed more often, but its just a pain of buying a new car =)

It was probably some jealous person in a pinto who roled up by your lexus who did it.

dang man, that really sux... i've lived in austin for a few years now, and from the outside (high tech, growing metro, lotsa green) austin looks great... but underneath it is has a taste of dallas and houston.

i would bet it was some middle/upper class snots out looking to hit mailboxes and decided Lexus would do just as well...

waiting for parts adds to the injury.

Not quite sure what you mean about a taste of Dallas and Houston but if you mean it's turning in to a big city, okay.

Hmm.. that's sad
I am getting paranoid over vandalism too.. since I have a yellow and I park on the street.
Today I just went out and bought a car cover, so at least it won't pull too much attention when parked.
