I received my HKS Igniton earlier this week, for a good price on Ebay...to bad LiL (j/k). I will be installing it myself. The directions look straight forward. I was supplied with instructions that are in another language. However, I managed to find a generic English version on the web. Something like tapping into 6 wires on the ignitor and a ground. Does it matter what order the 6 wires are connected to the 6 wires of the ignitor? There is no mention of such. Where have others mounted the box/control unit?

Does anyone have any pointers/tips/helpful hints they want to share?

I installed my HKS Ignition unit today with the phone assistance from doublins (thru Wino_II). Thanks!
Here are some pics and details for any folks wanting/needing to install this item on the IS300...

C1 = Connect the YELLOW wire from HKS unit
C2 = Connect the YELLOW wire from HKS unit
C3 = Connect the YELLOW wire from HKS unit
+B = Connect the RED wire from the HKS unit
GROUND = Connect the BLACK wire from the HKS unit

I choose to mount the unit next to the firewall on the fender. I was trying to keep it as far away from heat as possible. I also wanted to see the red "power" light, if need be. I attached it using heavy duty Velcro. I also choose this area because there is already a grounding location I can take advantage of.

I choose the longgest path I could to use up the slack in the wiring harness (highlighted in blue). Just the right distance! Use lots of zip-ties. Note the highlighted yellow & red colors on the Ignitor unit and the green grounding point.

These are the wires you will need to TAP into, not cut. I choose to sodder my connections. Included is a healthy use of electrical tape.

The green arrow points to the grounding location you can use. You can actually see the metal clip I added.

Awesome dude!

What did you end up paying?

Put this as a sticky write up! I thought this was much harder....guess I'll look into this too for the winter-project-beater-LEX

So far:
Rotors/Calipers
Armrest
Interior/Stereo
Trunk/Stereo
Exhaust
Rims

any downsides ?

is it worth it?
No downsides with the unit (why would there be any?). Upsides are no more misfires...well at least dramatically decreasing them. Longer and stonger firing from the spark plugs to make sure there are no misfires at the high rpms when you have the greatest risk of it.

You would not need this with your average N/A car. Mostly aimed for the turbo folks...

<IS300eR>
I'm not about show. If I was, I would have a body kit and super bling wheels. Tuck that thing in the safest spot away from heat. Clean install. That's the only thing I want to show off

Nothing really noticeable for NA...maybe better response.
