I was thinking of buying a 160,000 mile 1993 Toyota Supra non turbo, what would be the first thing i would have to replace? And what would be the cost?

I would have the car inspected by a reputable mechanic who knows about supra's.

I can't imagine the owners of the car have been too kind to it so expect to replace things like brakes, clutch, and other wear and tear items.
Having the mechanic inspection is very important.

What would your plans be for the car?

160,000 miles is nothing for a Toyota engine, if the car is well maintained. Have the car inspected throughly anyways.

Old news dude. That sludge problem affected cars/engines produced on July96 to Jul 01. The engine of concern were the 1MZ V-6 engines and the 5SFE 2.2 4 cyl engines. The cars affeted are
96 to 02 Camry
98 to 01 Solara
97 to 01 Sienna
96 to 01 Avalon
96 to 99 Celica
00 to 01 Highlander
98 to 01 Lexus ES 300
98 to 01 Lexus RX 300
I believe we are talking about a Supra on this post and the member is concerned of the engine high mileage. I have not seen a report or reports that the Supra engines are prone to sludge problems. I stand corrected if there are Supra inline 6 engines with sludge problems.

Yea my buddy have a 93.5 turbo, he doesn't have any sludge problems the car has 120k miles, and I had one also no sludge problems either.

BTW you might wanna try the Supraforum, they would be more familiar with the car. Even though we're still in the same engine family, the two cars are in two different league.

You are right, sorry for not clarifying the specific engine. ;)

2jz-ge is an easy 300k mile engine if properly maintained. It's one of Toyotas best. Look up reviews on the SC300 and GS300 for proof.
