Hi I currently have a IDQ10D2 hooked to a Hifonics ZX4000(brigde mono 4 ohms output) in a Qlogic sealed enclosure!! The bass is fine but I can hear the sub distortion when I driving it to Hard!! I have the gain on the amp at the middle because if I put it all the way can stand the Sub distortion!! My questions are: Can I just upgrade the IDQ10D2 for a IDMAX10D2 and keep the existing Amp? I want to be a 10" Sub because of the install setup. Can the ZX4000 will be enough or I need a new Amp? If I run the IDMAX10D2 with the ZX4000 can I damage it(the Sub)? I don't want big Bass a want SQ. I am happy with the sound of the IDQ but the distortion when I pump it up is disturbing!! Thanks!!

The suspension of the IDQ is limiting its performance under hard excursion, thus, it results in distortion.

What power does the ZX4000 make @ 4-ohms?

The ZX4000 makes 400watts @ 4-ohms in mono mode.
That's too little power for a IDMAX.
