In 90% city driving, I've been getting between 18 and 20.

Hmm.. my commute to work is about 8 miles. Of which, about 2 miles involve a jump onto the freeway and off 2 exits later. I get about 16 mpg.

I get about 18 and 24. It's not so bad, but could be better.

I do mostly city driving during the weekdays and highway driving on the weekends. The average I get is about 18.5 - 19.0 MPG. The low was like 16 MPG and the high was 20 MPG.

Is there any truth that @ the 5000 mile mark on the odo, that the engine settles and gas mileage improves?

A guy at a speed shop stated at that point most of the engine parts start to "match" and run smoother.

City-as low as 14, normal stop and go.

Got 20.5 on the last tank. It included a good mix of highway and stop/go. Car has 1100 miles on it now.

Initial calculations are an avg. mpg of 17.71 for our first fill-up. The car has 2200 miles on it. A mix of stop-n-go and highway driving.

It should be noted that the car's commute averages an elevation change of 7,000 ft.
