Sorry to vent but I used to think Jersey was cool cause they pump yer gas for you as opposed to other states (NY/CT).

So I pull up to Sunoco in my 1 week old IS and ask him to fill it up super. It was busy there and the guy flipped up the gas lever and basically tried putting the pump into the tank without looking...

well...the idiot misses the gas tank...hits the side of the car...and manages to spill gas across the whole back quarter panel and wheel.

So of course I get out..fuming...and demand he clean it up...all he does is get me some paper towels and yells at me for yelling at him...no apologies..nuttin. Thank goodness there was no scratches...probably just stripped all the clear coat off....*sigh*

Just the wax! =) That sucks, I'd hate to be forced to have someone else fill my tank. Does it cost you any extra $$$?

Hmm..that should have read "Moronic" now that i read it over.

Anyhoot...Some places don't care if you pump yer own gas...they actually appreciate it if they are busy. Most are sticklers about the law though.

As far as prices go, Jersey is relatively cheap compared the the boardering states however gas prices are going up again....it's between $1.71 and $1.79 now for super.

We have mostly self-service up here in WA...I know of only one place that will do it for you. If I'm not mistaken, in Oregon you have to let the attendant do it...

yeah i moved from cali to new jersey a few years ago. I would start pumping my own gas just by reflex. I would always get yelled at. and they have this dumbass law because new jersey is the most densly populated state, so they need the jobs. Although i would rather kick my own ass for a living than pump gas. And no we dont tip them

Here in Texas your could drive around for days before you would find a Full Service gas station. Being self service does not mean cheaper prices. Super goes for about 1.75 - 1.82 in Dallas.
