Hello, I have an 02 IS300 that I am doing a stock engine rebuild on...but I wanted to put some BC264 cams on it but I had a few concerns. Would doing this cause a check engine light or throw any weird codes? I also have a catless exhaust so would having no back pressure cause problems?

A different cam (lift and/or duration) will only work properly if you retune the ECU for it. Simply putting in a different cam may indeed throw a code (or worse) as your fueling / spark are going to be off.

The fella that I bought my IS from had the 264s installed for a while before selling it and actually took them out (not tuned). He said it ruined the driving experience - lost all low end torque and only felt a little quicker above like 4500 rpms.
