I recently raced a type-R integra, prelude, and a gts celica and they all ate my dust. I realized that in 4th gear, this car is lethal. I was able to reach up to approx. 120 mph( i was too excited) and noticed the center of the speedometer blinking. I guess that was a warning. Do not underestimate an IS300...

That is a pretty steep statement considering i even own an IS, but maybe the drivers of the other cars were not experienced...

I would think a Celica GT-S would win, and a prelude type SH would also beat the IS
a auto prelude would lose especially if its not the type SH.

I hope your experience is right....i wouldnt want to look like a fool racing one of these and get smoked......
Well my SRT intake is on order so i probably have a better chance than any....

good kills, you got lucky though with the type-R. Be careful next time with a type-R. A good driver will take a type-r in the low 6s. Actually, the celica GTS and type-R's accleration can VARY greatly with skill of driver.

Maybe it was a GSR with type-r stickers ??

maybe it was an RS with type-r stickers...we all know how popular type-r stickers are these days...

and i'm not saying you didn't race a type-r...i'm just stating something...

these days i gotta put in these little disclaimer type things so i don't get all bashed in anymore...

Oh yeah I forgot, just because someone has a faster car doesn't always mean they will beat you. I raced on the freeway and looked like the other guys didn't know how to quickly change lanes to overtake the other drivers, risky but that's how i beat em. Its the sometimes the driver, not the car.
But that will all change once the TRD supercharger comes out 215->320+ HP.

215 to 320hp??

i doubt it...other TRD supercharges give 50 more hp, or number closer to that, but 105hp??

At higher highway speeds the IS is damn fast: see my "Raced an M5 Story". At lower street speeds, those cars would probably beat an IS.

i went to the la auto show and asked some experts bout any superchargers coming out for the is300. they claimed that the trd supercharger will give a "50 percent increase" in hp so i hope that is accurate, if so anyone with a porsche 911 better watch out.

rayray how much do you really knwo about cars?? there's no way you killed all those cars without them all having crappy drivers, and you mentioned going in and out of traffic, can you say irresponsible and dangerous? you're going to kill someone. and do you even know how a supercharger works? at best TRD will probably give you an 8-10psi kit which is not going to give you the power to kill a 911. man you crack me up

listen man, im just saying what the guys from the auto show told me. all i know is that a turbo would screw up your car and a supercharger would last longer. so you dont believe an is300 beating a type-R or celica gt-s, it's ok. like what the other guys said, the drivers probably sucked.

The IS300 is just not that fast, sorry. Race an M5? I hope you are talking about a fake because an IS couldn't stay anywhere near even my old M5. Especially on the freeway where the M5 lives. Please, give us a break.

Nice cars, bad tailights, quick but not fast, that about sums up the IS.

Its possible, but your wins are probably due to the lack of a "good" stick driver. Those 6's are replicated by professional driver. However, if there was really a "good" stick driver in those cars you mentioned, IS is not able to hang with them.

wait...the TRD supercharger is coming with an eaton roots type charger right??? i am assuming this because a lot of TRD's chargers used to be eaton units...am i correct on this??? anyway...the efficiency on these units aren't the greatest...they are pretty good tho...i think you can expect about a 40% increase in power with these...maybe a tad bit more with a pulley...but when you over spin these units, they start to create more heat...that may create more boost...but not neccesarily more cfm...so in short...i think it's safe to say you MIGHT[/] be able to squeeze about 40-45% out of the car with this kit...but i really am not too sure about 50% more RWP...to add to this...the stock tranny may not handle any power levels over 300rwp...so making that much more power without modifying your tranny may not be too smart...

personally, if i wanted to make my IS blazing fast...i'd drop in a turbo...and why was it stated that a turbo will screw up your car??? i think that statement was made by someone who is trying to scare you into buying their product instead of tellign you the facts...if a turbo would screw up the IS...adn the IS has a 2jz-ge motor...then the turbo would have screwed up the 2jz-gte motor too...which is what is in my supra...and um...that's not screwed up yet... just some food for thought...

I think the main problem from some who have turbo'd their cars is that the tranny can't handle the additional power.

Why do some people think that manuvering on a traffic filled freeway is racing? I have had quite a few hondas and what not try to race me on a crowded freeway it is just stupid.

Please do some research into forced induction before you go around saying things like this. How will a turbo screw up your car and a supercharger won't?
