this might be a dumb question, and I have been slacking on getting flamed, so this might be your chance. hahaa

Boosted oweners, do you still take your car to lexus for service, like the 30,000 mile check up and such. I was just wondering if this is something that should be done or stick w/ regular oil changes.

I think most of the time, the services consist of just flushing and filling fluids...

I guess most important would be the timing belt change at 60k...

I'm at 40k now...I'm not goin anywhere near the dealership for a long time unless something goes wrong non-turbo related.

I'll do the maintenance myself. In the case of other people, I'm guessing they'll either do it themselves or take it to someone else to do.

I have a buddy at a dealership and he does all my maintenance for me. Total hookup and is an IS owner as well, so he digs the turbo and such. It's the only way to fly.

If I didn't have that or had to move i'd do it all myself like switch the fluids, swap the belt, maintaing the suspension pieces, yada. yada...

I get PFS to do my service. Lexus used to send me "you missed your service!" emails, but they have stopped in the past couple of months. I would only take my car back to the dealer for something under warranty, which runs out in 6k mi.

its behind the glovebox, you need to take it off, and then you have access to where the filter is located....I changed that myself over the summer, picked up the filter from IronToad...

Simple stuff from changing oil and shizzle to bleeding brakes, flushing and filling tranny fluid and coolant. It's not hard. Plus it gives you a chance to get DIRTY. You know...motor oil running down your buttocks while coolant finds its way into your armpit cravaces Ooooooooh OOOOOOOOOh.
