Hi all!

I was wondering what all of your favorite colors for the IS are?

I can't decide because I am torn between Yellow, Silver, and Black. Will one get tired from the yello after a while?

Thanks,
Jimmy

Of course I'm slightly biased, but the yellow is a great color. I generally drive like an old man, I got so many tickets when I was younger in my old cars (1 black, 1 silver) that I just poke around in my Solar Yellow IS.

I like the darker colors...

I am getting Graphite Gray
but Black, Blue and Green are pretty tempting.

The Auburn Sky (orange-red) is nice too.

The Silver is cool, but I like the graphite more.

The white and yellow just don't do it for me.

I guess I'm going against the concensus on this color thing. I think most like Silver the best based on the threads. I personally like the Auburn Sky "red" a lot. There are just too many white and silver cars out there. The Auburn Sky "red" has a classy luxury look suggesting a more "serious" tone. I got one and get lots of complements on the color. Anyone agree with me?

Had ordered black, then looked at my black GTI the IS is replacing and thought, hummmmmm....

Maybe Gray is the color for me. Fortunately, my dealer has one coming in.

So, Gray kicks it for me. Really, anything other than white or that look-at-me yellow.

I had the same feeling when they suggest the black because I used to have a black eclipse and celica, but after looking at this car under sunlight, I decided on the black. It just have a special shine to it, but you guys are right, it gets dirty really easily.

I personally have always liked the silver but the blue looks sweet too. I ended up with the silver and have no regrets whatsoever. It's classy, the lines and edges show up well and it doesn't show dirt as much as a blue one would. Also, if you plan on reselling, the silver would maintain its resale value better (I would think).

I also saw a green one with ivory interior and chromed 17's on it. Haven't seen any other like it and would definitely be happy with that color as well with that set up. My advice: go with your gut feeling because it's your car not ours and then go have some fun driving it around!!!

I have seen all the colors and I think that black, white, and silver are all very classy (like I said in my post above). However, like everyone has said, we see too many of those colors. Hell, all of my cars are either silver or gray. I bought the IS in spectra blue to stand out just a tad (but not too much like yellow).

I really didn't like the green or the auburn sky colors.

Here's the dilemma: you buy a more conservative color like silver, white, black and it's not as flashy. You buy something flashy like spectra blue or yellow, or even red and you run the risk of having a "trendy" color that doesn't look so good a couple years from now. I bought a new Integra in 1990 that was "jasper green" which at the time was very cool but I grew to really not like all that much a few years later.

Make mine silver.

Guys, thanks all of you for replying. You guys are all very friendly. And, coming from bimmer.org, I think I am enjoying my time here better.

Does anyone have a good picture of the Graphite Gray? Yellow is nice, but flashy, cop magnet. Black is awesome, but doesn't show all the lines on the IS. Silver is classic, but too common. That's why I'm interested in the Graphite Gray.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Just ordered mine on Sunday in Imperial Jade Mica, Ivory Leather...should have it sometime next week.

White didn't do anything for me; black is too hard to keep clean; yellow is too...well....yellow; and I never did like that blue...on any car.

Maybe silver woulda been the only other color I'd have considered.
