I was looking into a spare as well for my new car. You can order a full remote key, valet, or regular key w/o remote from Sewell Lexus. I believe they are one of the site sponsors too. The best deal I've seen so far. The price includes being cut for free, but you need to program it yourself (has to be done in ignition). There is a DIY write-up on this site too, just do a search.
Full master remote key $177 plus $10 for shipping. For about $60 you can get a regular spare w/o remote (it will deactivate the alarm when put in door).
Keys available for all Lexus vehicles, proof of ownership & ID required for cutting of key. Best of all its genuine Lexus, and not ebay crap that still isn't cut and nobody but lexus can cut it anyways. If your lazy and don't want to program the key, most dealers will charge $50-60 for doing it.
I found my key, i bought it uncut but a brand new factory lexus master key with remote, for 110 off ebay, i serached around at a few locksmiths and finally found a good one that cut it right for me for 25 bucks. You gotta be careful though when gettting them cut at a locksmith cause if they mess up then thats 100 bucks down the drain. after i got it cut i brought it to lexus to get it programmed which cost 56 dollars, took a bout an hour and a half, they have DIY instructions to get the key programmed but i think only lexus can do the programming for you cause they have a lot of processes that need to be done.
But i think that is your cheapest way to get ur key if your looking for one

Great people, and they really know what they are doing.
I have an IS300 that only had a valet key when I bought it. Dealer wanted $450 for a new master.
I called 740-546-4700 and gave the gal my numeric code off the card in the user manual. $130 total, and she sent me a brand new master remote key and programming instructions for both the key and the remote. Works perfectly.
BTW, programming the key and the remote yourself is dead easy.
Sequence of pressing on the brake, then the throttle, opening the door, clicking the lock on and off, etc.
If you can read and follow directions, you can do it yourself - no problem.
^^^ +1. I bought a key blank off of Ebay, had a place cut it (much drama ensued, but that's a whole different story) and reprogrammed it myself. It really isnt' hard to program at all, I think it took me 5 minutes?
That's the cheapest way to do it. The key is to find somewhere that has a "sidewinder" key laser cutter and can do a good job at it.
can anyone say whether the same sequence i found on the forums here can work with a JDM altezza? i'm not even totally sure if the key has a transponder in it either but i definitely want my keyless entry. also would the lexus keys off ebay or anywhere else work? i only have the valet key for my car (that's a problem with most imported japanese cars round here, only get the single valet key)
my key just broke recently so i went to lexus of westminster, they said a new key is 89.95. but my car is under warrenty so they said come back monday and they would try to cover it. but while i was there they told me make sure you never loose your original master key because it will cost you 900$ to replace it. so im guessing your SOL.
