Can anybody in the chicago area help me street tune my my gs300.I had the car tuned a AMS and I decided to fiddle with the tune and now I'm stuck because when I try to load the maps from AMS the f10x wants a password which I don't have and the tuner told me that he did not password protect my tune so if you can help me bypass the password or street tune it for me I would be grateful. I'm running the haltech f10x with all my 02's unplugged running the car in open loop I tried to tune and it is not working for me. My set up is a garrett gt35 turbo, rc 550cc injectors, walbro fuel pump ( I know I need to to get a fuel system installed),aem uego wideband, greddy profec 2 boost controller ,tial 50mm wastegate, hks bov,hks timing belt and a 2.5 mm headgasket on stock internals. the car runs and starts fine I just need to get these damn lean spots out which falls between 1500 and 2000 rpms but once she hits boost she is a monster and pulls hard ,I've tried adjusting the throttle pumps and fuel and nothing seems to work. So if anyone in the chi that is familiar with the f10x is willing to help me out I'll pay you.You could come to me or I can come to you

If the system is asking you for a password and you know for a fact that it was not password protected then it means that you are not communicating with the Haltech unit properly.

If it is asking you for a password and you make any changes then those changes will not register to the Haltech unit, I say this because you said it asks for a password and you also said you made changes to throttle pumps and fuel, does not make sense how you made changes if it asks for a password.

I don't know if that was you Mo who posted a response but I'm the guy who spoke to you over the phone and emailed you my maps to look at to let me know where I screwed up . I can load maps that I made but I can't seem to load the AMS map because of the password issue.

I had an issue like that (asking for a password when there was none) and it ended up being a connection issue with the Haltech.

How did you fix the problem ? I can connect and boot up fine with no problem I have about four maps saved and I can load all of them except the one from AMS I just don't get it. Is it because I'm running windows vista with a serial to usb adapter because my comport settings on my laptop (device manager) and my comport settings on the haltech match

I haven't encountered that specifically.

When connecting it would get to 99% connection and then prompt for a password.
It was my com port settings or the USB-Serial adapter I was using. Some of them just don't work.

I don't have the loading to 99% prblem it loads everytime I'm suspecting that this map has a password even though the tuner says it it is not password protected

Which USB to serial are you using? The ONLY one that works if made by Keyspan.

If AMS tuned it for you then it is their responsibility to get her running properly.

Well I gave up on the password situation so I decided to richen up the map to the point where I smooth out the lean spots now she runs hard and strong like viagra but I will try to hit AMS in the morning for fine tuning to get more power. I love boost but damn this thing is like a second mortgage LOL!!!!!!!! Now I need a LSD so I can put the power to both wheels instead of fish tailing when I punch at 40 mph
