Have you guys scraped the edges of your rim against the curb. It's probably easy to do in the IS300 because of the ultra low profile tires. My sister did that in her A4 and I was wondering if anyone knows how to touch that up? Or whether it's even possible...

it's a big problem with cl-s', too. the low profile coupled with a very shallow wheel offset (a part of the alloy spokes actually protrudes past the tire boundaries) can lead to problems. prolly the same deal with the is300.

one word of advice: watch those cheapo carwashes...more than one cl owner has complained about scratches from the track.

those washes will swirl your paint anyway, so fergit them

Eric, it will cost your sister anywhere from $75 to $125 to get a regrind. She should call around to see who will do it for her b/c you might be able to get it done cheaper than having Audi do it. You can not tell the difference between it and a new one once completed.

I scuffed a rear rim as well. Lexus hasn't offered to do a re-grind, but I'll ask them anyway. The scuff is driving me crazy, so if Lexus won't do it, I have a couple other places that I think will do it. I'll get a price quote..

Happened to me once, must have been while a valet was driving.......or my son.....yeah thats it

Anyways, it looked very bad. Luckily, the spare is on the same wheel so Lexus just swapped them. Now the scraped wheel is the spare wheel.

Eric,
Yes, they are chromed factory 17in. I know there is some debate as to whether these look good or not, but with my tinted windows, they look nice. Plus, I'm a chick, we like pretty sparkly things, right? Ha ha. I'll post a pic when I get a chance!

Anndi,
The reason I asked is because I wrote a post earlier regarding the chromed factory 17inch wheels. I suggested that they would look VERY nice on the IS considering that they look sweet on the GS400s (which are similar in design).. Great Choice! and I'm looking forward to seeing a pic...

Eric....
