i have a stock 02 is300 and i feel like i cant take off correctly. it just seems like when i floor it doesnt take off the way i think it should. i cant even burn rubber, is this cus i dont have enough power stock or is it cus of the electronic throttle control system?

did u try taking off traction control?


And yes its the ects-i
Its the way the IS was built. the ecu only opens the throttle 50% from a stop.

Well what are you feeling when you try and accelerate? If you try and accelerate too hard from a stop... Traction Control may kick in.

it may be the cdd keeping ur clutch slightly disengaged, after i removed mine, the clutch felt much better. overall the car felt much better. that is if u have manual. not sure which kind of tranny u have in ur car

Really!?! I had no idea that it only lets the throttle open up that much. I can tell you that the dbw delete will be done once the motor goes out if not sooner.

no its not traction control cus i always take that off and my car is completely stock so it must be the etcs, is there anyway to get the throttle to open 100% or is it that u just cant floor it from a stop?
