As a follow-up to my previous post last week, I was told by Lexus that the ECU upgrade and the NEW Trac ECU are being put in my car today. I have been told by the Lexus Regional Operations Manager that I am the 1st person in the country to get the new TRAC ECU installed. All cars currently in the US have the old system, but all cars in transit and future builds will have the new settings and TRAC unit that are being installed in my car today.

I will update to let you guys know the difference in performance.

Teg,
Which dealership did you go to?
Stevens creek? Putnam? Fremont? Sarramonte? Pleasanton (i doubt this one)? Concord?
Also, if i go there, who should i ask for?

Regards,
Jason

[From TEG: Derek at Serramonte, but my car is being "beta tested" with the mod... They aren't ready to do everyone else yet. ]

actually they do, in longo. i went there yesterday and had my 10000 mile check. I explained to them about the hesitation and they ordered an "ecm" upgrade that's gonna fix that so i guess i have no more worries

[From TEG: Hopefully they will get you the "ECU" upgrade and not send an "ECM" (damaging electronic counter-measure) to your car

So far I am happy with the results.
which dealer you go for this?

[From TEG: I did the Trac ECU disable mod myself. The software was updated at Serramonte. I guess they let me test it early because I had already made my car "non stock" (with a disabled trac system) and they had been told to "wait" until they get replacement trac ECUs. ]

To those of you that have had this done. Are there any service bulletin or campaign number or any other identification associated with this. My dealership is still somewhat in the dark on this. I have actually change my route to work to avoid one particular location that has caused numerous close calls with cars behind me as I merge.

Thanks
Terry

The car is driving great!!! It seems as though the new TRAC ECU has desensitized the TRAC and it allows for more spirited entry and exit into corners and turns. With the ECU upgrade, it eliminates any straightline hesitation when hitting the gas. The car feels substantially quicker.

I had it done at DiFeo Lexus is Bound Brook, NJ.

Hey JAWS

Who was your tech at Difeo Lexes? I have been chasing them about this for months, and it was only a few weeks ago during my 15K service that one of the techs (Vito) for the first time admitted he knew about the ECU/TRAC update, but he said it was still months away.

How long did it take to do - I am assuming a few hours...

Well Joe @ Difeo said there were only 2 people that got the fix because they were extreme case's and Lexus was involved. These 2 were beta/test cars
. He told me the final fix will be out end of month. I'm on the list to be called and fixed
..

JAWS how does the car feel after a week or so?

Recently I had a problem were the front bumper had to be repainted. Lexus of melbourne was great about the whole thing. I dropped it off . They gave me an rx300 loaner and was willing to drive it back to orlando to drop it off. Well the porter dropped it off with a flat tire. I called and no questions asked said they would replace it.I talked to them today and they are just swapping out a new rim and tire. While I had him on the phone I asked about the ecu/trac update and he looked at the vin and said I fall right in the middle so he was just gonna order the parts, pick up the car and have everything done at once. So just wanted to say great service and I should have my upgrade next week.

I called my dealership, Arlington Lexus in Palatine this morning and they said they had no clue what I was talking about.

I've heard that their service department is very good, but so far I haven't been impressed.
