Ecu reprogram in NC (Johnson Lexus)

1711 Views 17 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Spectra1
I just got my Ecu reprogram done yesterday at Johnson Lexus and i must say my car runs perfectly now, no hesitation between gears, more throttle response and much quicker more precise shifts....For anyone taking there car in ,be aware that they are not going to reprogram the ecu unless you fall within a certain vin number range so make sure you really have this problem before you take it in...About the trac computer they are on back order and this will be replaced just as soon as the parts come in... The service guys Name is Ryan Emory and his number is (919) 877-1851..But please don't call unless you have an actual problem...

Is300lvr
what color is your IS?
SUP IS300lvr and Spectra1,

I was just at Johnson Lex yesterday to take my car in for the 15,000 mile service. I may have seen your IS Spectra, there were several SBM out there, but one of them was probably yours since some had chrome wheels on them. I just went to pick my car up and got back from there, and to tell you, that ECU reprogram is great. I'm also on backorder for that TRAC ECU, but the car is running smoothly right now. Only thing that made me upset was that my GGP IS was scuffed on several areas of the front and rear bumpers. They had no idea where or how it came from, and my tire rotation was wrong, so they had to reswitch the tires. Boy, they had a killing with each other about those two minor issues, but I was pretty upset about that too. But oh well, people make mistakes. Let's just hope this is the only on they'll ever make. WE all gotta hit it up one day and have an event going on to appreciate our ISs. GO LEX!

thanks to MO here it is

The ECU reprogram update affects all IS300s whose VIN number is LOWER/BEFORE 10025186

The TRAC ECU replacement affects all IS300s whose VIN number is LOWER/BEFORE 10029014

These is no specific Manufacture date but VIN number verification.

DUDE,
You got it RIGHT, that was me. Damn, I didn't know that thing costed that much. What happened to it?? Man I was mad, cause it was parked out front, and those idiots made me and my girl stand out there for 15 minutes just to bring my car back into the back to switch out my tires because THEY couldn't rotate them right. But like I said, people make mistakes. I saw a couple BLUE ISs with chrome wheels, didn't exactly know which one was you or yours. And yea, that SC430 was tight. I didn't like that color though, it was too purplish for me. But dude, holla at me if you want to meet up and see wassup. Also, did you see the front grill I flushed out on the bottom of the car?? I think it made me car look better. Anyways, holla. Lata

man that was tight as hell. i was staring at that, but i didn't want to ask about it ,because you seemed kind of bothered so i just let it go...Mine was the one across the parking lot from you...in the regular customer parking..how did you do that to your grill..it was tight as hell? we need to meet up man..did you get LSD WITH YOUR CAR...
OK, now I *seriously* can't wait for my ECU reprogram. I need to check my VIN#, but I'm pretty sure I should be good since I got my car 6/27/00 and I do have the hesitation problem.

So when do you guys want to have a meet? And more importantly, where? It sucks that the weather has been so crappy lately. Nobody wants to have a meet on a rainy day.
Spectra1,

Where were you yesterday man? What did you look like, maybe I ran by you but didn't notice that you owned the blue IS. I don't know, there were so many employees driving the customer's cars (several blue ones) that I had no idea any of them were members of this site. Obviously, you were close around to my car and where I was, I just didn't recognize you. And about the grill, dude you should have asked me. Don't worry about that bad mood thing I was in, it was all their fault for messing my car up, but it was all good. Yea, you right, we do need to meet up, cause I want to check out your rims. I'm deciding on whether to put 19s on them or not. Personally, I don't think they're worth the price. And as far as the grill goes, dude that was cheap to do, but tedious. You'd have to email me or we meet up for me to tell you how to do that, cause it's a long process to write it all here. My email is [email protected]. Just hit me up and we'll holla. Lata.

Ciscoguy,

There's not enough people to really have a formal meet as of yet. If we can gather up a few more others, we may have one. I just don't think 5 people is enough to really hold an event and spend the day to have fun in our ISs. And as far as the weather, you are definitely right, it sucks. Been raining on and off lately...hopefully, things will get better so that we don't have to be washing our cars seemingly like every other day.

You guys got me wrong, you can call it whatever, meet, mini-meet. It definitely doesn't have to be any kind of hardcore event. I'm probably too laid back for a serious meet anyway!

Oh i almost forgot about the housing they just replaced everything no questions asked..a thousand dollar part..oh by the way how long have you had your ride....the only thing i didn't like was that i have a lot of road film on the old light housing versus the new one...oh and make sure that if you have had your car for a while that you get them to put your old light bulb in the new housing..because if you don't they will look two different colors...the mechanic told me as these bulbs get older they more blue...just a small bit of advice...but if i were you i would tell them that both housings leaked and just have them replace both, i dont think they even checked mine i think they just replaced it...later
