i was wondering how heavy is the stock 5spd driveshaft? is it a 1 pc or 2 piece. and is anybody running a lighter driveshaft. ive tried searching but i couldnt come up with anything. just wanted to know is there any big advantages of running a lighter one. thanks

From what I know there are not too many advantages of owning a lighter one. It's kinda like a not enough bang for the buck.

Stock one is a two piece, aka propeller shaft.

The only ones that I know of that have swapped drivshafts have really done it more so for reasons like very high power, trans & rear end swaps. I'm sure there are a few that have changed to a one piece with the stock drivetrain though.

You're reducing drivetrain mass by putting a lighter one in. It's akin to having a lightened flywheel. You'd probably feel a differance but it wouldn't really be something you could measure on a dyno.
