With the introduction of the IS, Lexus has now opened their doors to an entirely different group of buyers. From what Ive heard and read, it seems as if Lexus sales reps arent really treating the younger buyers with the respect that they would the typical Lexus buyer. That, and the fact that there seem to be some First Year gremlins with the IS.

With these two issues brought to the table, do you guys think this will cause Lexus' #1 rating in customer satisfaction to slip?

I bought my IS for my 21st birthday. When I walked into the dealership (I was driving '97 Corolla back then), I was treated extremely nice. My salesperson never doubted my abilities to by an IS. Service was at a top level. It all may have something to do with the fact that we have 3 dealerships in my area (closest one is 20+ miles from me.) Maybe, they realize if they treat me right (which they did), I'll be buying my next Lexus from them
.

Other than the Paint Chips
, I didn't have that much trouble with my car
. I'm at 10K right now.

Undercarriage shield is still holding
(may have something to do with the fact that I change my own oil and I do it from the top).

Tranny hesitation? Nah. It is used to my driving style (always floor it, ECT ON).

Trac problem? Got used to it. Just don't floor the car inside the turn. Now that it's warmer, I drive w/ Trac OFF
.

I think there are still more owners who have not had major issues with their vehicles to balance out all the disgruntled IS owners. In terms of dealers, I think the west coast leads with the most number of horrible dealers, I don't know why that is, just my perception of the situation.

I think hyundai dealers are coming really strong. My roomate went to buy a hyundai a week after I bought my IS300.. they treated us much better than the Lexus dealer.
