I'm talking about the piece that surrounds the plastic chrome ring of the transmission. That piece goes from there up to the stereo. The scratches are DEEP (some soft rubber is scratched away). Anything I can do that can make it less noticable?

Same thing happened to me (Best Buy installing XM). I am bringing in my car to the dealer Thursday. I'll let you know how much it is. Thank god mine is paid for.

im guessing best buy,, if you have a deep cut... i dont think theres anyway of fixing it.. might as well buy an add-on dash kit..

Best Buy is paying for mine. There is a scratch on the console to that goes around the shifter and I don't think any dash kits go that far down.

I got my estimate today. They scratched the top and bottom console. As most of you know the top console is attached to the WHOLE dash. Parts are $540 and labor is $450 for a total of $1,090. Ouch. Best Buy isn't going to be happy when they pay that one!

best buy is a store that sells computers, tvs, vcrs, home appliances, pc games, video games, cds, dvds, etc. they sell car audio and they do installs too.
