Dam Lexus dealer!!!

The dealer here in Hawaii says that they do not get the 2% kickback because they are actually owned by Servco. Can anyone confirm this? I wanted a Lexus, but now I am less enthus about getting one. I offered to pay $33,000 out the door (a thousand more than what my friend had paid) with sunroof and leather package and they didn't accept my offer. The sales rep (crooks) told me that they are much more flexable with the price and that there is room to negotiate. However, in negotiations, he tells me otherwise. This was the second time I went there to negotiate and each time they let me walk. There was no follow up...nothing from the sales rep. Unfortunately, there's only one lexus dealer here in the Island. I am ready to buy a BMW instead. Any comments on how I should get them to come down to my price?

You could try telling him that it should be cheaper than in Seattle, since they didn't have to ship it so far...
Nah... Oh, I know....

Tell him you know about the dealer holdback... and you want it. That should be about $600.

Well, just wait a little longer if you can.. When 2002 IS comes out, they wouldn't argue with you... =)

I argee, being that we are about 6 months off, you might want to wait for the 2002 especially since a lot of the bugs that plague the 2001 will hopefully be resolved. Plus with the economy going the way it is this dealer may be more willing to deal then. One other note, heaven forbid, there are a lot of other vehicles that will be available other than or IS such as the new A4, Altima, Jaguar, as well as a C32 AMG! I know much more money, not the same as IS, etc, etc. However nothing wrong to keep all options open.

So what is the lowest they are willing to go in Hawaii for the IS with the leather and moonroof you wanted (i believe it's the LS package), minus tax and license?
