Hey people,
just got my car back, here are the dyno results:
The mid pipe is 2.5".

Before:
Max Torque = 1277N.M @ 44KPH
Max Power = 109 KW (146.17 hp) @ 118 KPH
Max Motive Force = 1025.3Lb @ 44kph

After:
Max Torque = 1244N.M @ 54 KPH :pissed:
Max Power = 114 KW (152.87 hp) @ 118 KPH
Max Motive Force = 999.0Lb @ 54kph

5 Kw increase, the tuner said ecu is still learning.. is it true?

how come the torque decreased? and when driving, even on the 5th gear the speed tends to decrease faster than before. Is this because the loss of torque? :eek:

the HKS people and my mechanic suggested 2.5", they said because it's a NA car. if 3" will result in power loss. I have no idea myself, just followed what they say.

If you really want some extra power...save for f/i...don't waste your time on these little pipes.

hehe it's just harder to get it done in australia. i'm happy enough with just a little more power and sound. exhaust sounds so much deeper now, gotta luv it. :chill:

Looks like the max torque came in at a higher speed, so the curve has changed. I don't think it's unusual to lose a little torque on the low end, with more open exhaust, but gain some HP. Is this a 2 liter engine? I get the HP at 146 before and 153 after installing the pipe.

sorry dude, 115 is in kilowatts, so 115 x 1.7457 = 200.7555 hp.

200 at the wheels is respectable for NA.


NA needs backpressure to build torque. That's why when people remove all the cats and straight pipe a NA car they usually lose power at some point in the process. Generally on the midpipe because it has the primary cat if they have already swapped the header and rear section.

we don't have that problem, we need more air volume to get out of the way of the turbo cause it wants to blow like 2dollar whore. :D

Hey man, then can u please explain why the speed decrease so quickly while driving? especially when i stop accelerating, the needle just drops so quickly even if it's on the fifth gear...

just looking at the dyno sheets on the 'go fast' forum.. my is300 hp is so much lower than the bone stock ones... i guess it's because i've got the european version is300.
