got mine installed. I've got some vertical play that makes it rattle. they're coming out with an updated damped/insulated lever that us earlier adopters will get if we have the issue. for the time being he's sending out an extra rubber washer.

no more slop. shit is super precise. throws are crazy short but still defined 1st 3rd 5th and 2nd and 4th. I've yet to mis shift. along with the supra n/a clutch/flywheel set up, it's made the IS a lot enjoyable.

once the rattling is sorted out, I would not hesitate to get this mod.

thanks for the info black86.

before you swapped to the mk4 clutch and flywheel, did your clutch let out near the top of the pedal stroke? mine does and it drives me nuts. someone suggested i do the mk4 swap and that should take care of it.

I had a similar issue with my 04 and I took the clutch dampening device off and it helped. there's also a spring to dampen or delay throttle input. I place a spacer over the spring to stop it's impact. hope that helps. if you, or someone you know, built rc cars. i used a shock spacer and put that over the throttle dampening spring. I knew people back in the day used a small hose clamp too. either or will increase throttle response which helps in the cars overall feel, especially when starting from a stop.

with the extra rubber washer the noise is gone. don't know how I did without this shifter before! I highly recommend it!

Hey man I'm thinking of getting this shifter would you still recommend it? do you daily your car and also did they update the up and down movement I dont want to have to deal with any kinda of rattle and when you speak of the throttle dampening spring are you referring to that kinda of dead zone when you first step on the pedal?

Also while I was going through forums I found your name again, are you still running that throttle cable spacer over the spring? I was thinking of doing it with some 5/16 fuel line and a zap strap, anything else I should know of?

yup, I daily my IS. it's getting it's first shake down early May. so far the extra rubber washer has remedied the play and rattle. I'm not sure if it's being updated or just an extra rubber washer is all they're going to provide. I'm happy as is.

deleting the clutch dampening device. other than those things, going supra n/a clutch and flywheel was probably the best mod I've done

I have a ddm in my AR5. Not super smooth but ok.
Thanks for the info.

I emailed back and forth with cubespeed. They said this probably won’t fit the AR5 without mods, but they’re making a Verossa short shifter that might fit. They said the stock W55 shifter works with the Verossa shifter housing+AR5 combo because of how sloppy the stock W55 shifter is,

Here’s their reply:

The pivot pins are at a slightly different height on the IS300 Vs the JZX110 shifter housing which is likely causing the stiffness.

Honestly, I can’t 100% say if our new JZX110 short shifter will suit your set up. But it is designed to work with the JZX110 shifter housing and selector shaft, giving full travel for engagement of each gear. So if your setup is working OK with your current set up, it should work even better with our short shifter. But we can only really guarantee fit and function if using our JZX110 short shifter on a JZX110 trans.
