I recall seeing this mentioned vaguely in other threads, but the product is actually official now, set to release in mid-Dec

Here's the product page:

https://cubespeed.com.au/shop?olsPage=products/cube-speed-short-shifter-for-lexus-is300-w55

They have shifters for other variants of the W-series transmission and also for other cars, which have gotten good feedback from what i can tell.

I have one pre-ordered

The Karl Sport one is long gone, there's the B&M which is also difficult if not impossible to find, and the rest are just ebay china replicas of other designs with varying flaws. This is the first one built specifically for our (American-spec) cars.

Not sure if this is still available, but they said they are including a free shift knob of my choosing for preordering, which is pretty cool of them

They also confirmed that this will retain the stock 12x1.25 thread pattern so any knob that works with the stock shifter will work.

I have the Supra OEM clutch setup so i am eager to smooth out the shifting setup. It feels kinda off, its too long and kinda vague. The whole thing in stock form is garbage

need this in my life. subbing for future reference. glad to see cube kept their word and released this.

i am sure this will also make me want to do the mk4 swap at the same time too as my clutch is new but does not engage until the almost end of the pedal stroke...

yes i have, i also installed a SS clutch line. that actually did not seem to do much. i spoke to figs and he said sometimes this can happen and blamed it on the pressure plate.

when i bought the car from the dealer about 5k ago, the dealer put a new clutch on it. not sure if they messed with any other adjustments or just threw the thing on.

im pretty sure the dealer didnt give two shits about actually fixing the problem. i was actually surprised they bothered to put a new one in (maybe because of the downtime around the holidays?). i know they were super anxious to get rid of the car since there were a lot of people who wanted to look at it.

hell the salesmen told me about his stupid book he wrote like 4 times.it was a weird day.

My other car is a 370Z, the stock shifter is 1000x better, it needs no shortening.

IS300 feels like a damn truck
The W55 definitely doesn't like to be shifted fast. And correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this transmission(w series) came from the Toyota pickup truck. Too bad Lexus didn't get the 6 speed(v series).

The NA Supra clutch/flywheel is vastly sportier/responsive compared to the stock clutch/dual mass flywheel. The Figs CDD does make the pedal feel stiffer, Had this on both my manual IS300s.

I'm curious to see how this short shifter feels. Waiting to read the reviews.

I'm waiting to hear some of the reviews as well, been holding off on the order. When I was trying to diagnose the whining from the W55 that it's known for, I saw that adding a short shifter can create some of the whining. I'm not sure if its just amplifying the whine, or adding more, so those who have it on the way, be sure to listen for it!
