most dealers want to make $5-6k on a used car like an IS300 - and they want to make $5k on the S2000. Do the math, you will not come out well.
Best way is to sell privately, and buy an S2000 privately - no reason to buy a used car from a dealer if it has a factory warranty - why give them all the profit?
What's the miles on your car, is it a 5 speed?

This is the book that new car dealership uses:

www.kbb.com

look under trade-in value and rate your car in "good condition". The dealership WILL NEVER give you the excellent condition value unless it's like a week old or something and put EXACTELY what you have in the option menu.

*But prepare to get raped on the trade-in even though you are trading it in for another use car. *

Is your IS your daily driver??? The cockpit of the S2000 is tight. I'm not a big guy and I found the driving quarters to be small. If its your weekend/track vehicle though, go for it. . .

What model year is the S2k? How many miles? If I were in your situation, I'd be leary of buying any used sports car, esp. the S2k. The miles you seen on the car may be hard driven miles. In a nutshell, I would not buy any sports car unless it was brand new and no more than 3-5 miles. When checking out the '03 models, I was quoted a little below MSRP. You should consider that, if your finances will let you do that.

Dont' get me wrong, the IS300 is a great car, but if I had the choice (and the parking space, heh heh) I would have picked up the S2k instead of the IS300. Its probably one of the best cars I've ever driven, 2nd is the Z06 Vette. My 2.5 cents. Take it FWIW.
