New here and wanted to give this a try since i'm currently stuck on which coilover setup to buy and figured i'd come on here and get some opinions. I'm looking for some coilovers that ride smooth but can handle the track on weekends or just whenever i feel the need for speed lol. If this helps also I will be riding on 19s so i'd like it to look flush as well. Thanks for your help :approve:

Dear gawd,

I think everyone lost interest when you said 19" rims. - I'll let it slide.

The reality: If you are tracking your car, it would be wise to stay away from 19" rims... Just saying.

Suspension is a finicky game - that is: if you're going about it the right way.
- Lowering the car will cause stresses on other areas in the car and without addressing them the car will deteriorate quicker. Think about it sitting in a squat position all day - let alone 30 solid minutes. Your knees are going to hurt. I would look at new control arms and bushings all around.

Best coils I've seen come from Fortune Auto (right here in the USA). For an added ride quality, go with the swift spring upgrade. - Worth every penny.


IMO:
Largest I would go is 18" on this car. With a nice 1-2" drop the rims will fill the wheel well and still maintain drive-ability. This may open up some cost for you to look at upgrading some old and dried out bushings.

Just don't go with super high spring rates if you want comfort. But then, you'll have more suspension travel, which could be good or bad for the track, but it means less "flush". Flush and track don't mix anyway. No wonder you're having so much trouble finding coilovers, you don't really have anything specific you want. You want something that can do everything, well anything can do everything lol. But then it won't do any of it well. Flush... track... comfort... pick 1.

echoing posh, look at fortue auto 500s. the next step down is BC BR. 19 wheels (not rims) will be too large for your car and track duties. stick with 17 or 18s. 'flush' and track cars do not mix.

i believe most IS coilovers come with a 10/8 spring rate. you would be surprised how soft that is for our cars. i have 12/10 and wish i went higher (my car is just for 'show' and driving around, no track duties). i recommend you reach out to fortune auto and BC and they can help you pick rates too.
