Ok today i bought some high temprature paint (black with gloss) and im looking to paint over the 01 grill for fun and practice since im getting my 03 grill in early december. Well im in quite a little hole, cause i have not the slightest clue how to pry it off, and im really scared about pulling to hard and breaking it (doesnt feel as strong as i thought chrome would feel) Can someone tell me how to get it off so I can paint it? And also i was wondering if I could just wash the grill with some soap and water, then dry and paint away instead of having to use primer, since there is not dirt or grit on the grill.
Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Remove 2 clips on top of the grill. For that the phillips screw-like middle pieces need to be turned about 45degrees and poped up.
Push the bumper tabs on the bottom of the grill down (?up), push the grill on the bottom in. Carefully remove the grill.
