My car has been throwing a CEL for a few weeks now. I keep dropping it off at the shop and they're saying its an "evaporation code" and its the gas cap. But everytime they turn it off somehow a few days later it turns back on.

What do you guys think?

i think you arent turning the gas cap enough when you get gas. or maybe the gas cap went bad(seal). get a new one, its liek 30 bucks. it happened to my pickup truck, same thing, over and over...solved with a $30 part

Okay, I'm going to pickup a new Lexus gas cap from my dealer and see if that gets rid of it. :)

Okay guys, I need some more help. Went to Lexus and replaced the o-ring with a new one, but the CEL is still there. Can I reset my code some how? The technician thinks its either the gas cap like we fixed, or maybe a leak somewhere in the intake?

check the air hose on the back of the air box, that goes to a metal hose, it is a common problem that will happen after the air filter is changed. check that or for an air leak between the maf, and the throttle body.
