Happened to me twice now, get some good speed trac is off pull the e-brake drift a corner and the whole car shuts off, turns back on but a little rough.

Ok. Not what I thought it was. But on a half tank, you probably starved the fuel pump. Less than that, you definitely starved the fuel pump.
