During heavy breaking my car starts to pull to the side slightly. I can take my hands off the wheel while normal driving and the car will go straight for miles. I have H&R's and I never had it aligned since lexus wants $160 to do it. (yes im cheap) Someone posted alighment specs, but my dumb-azz cant read them. What should the specs be, so I can take it to a local shop? (Not setup for racing or tracks, I want it set for normal driving)

My guess is that you're alignment is definitely off. My advice is take to the dealer and get it done right.

If the car's been lowered but never had it aligned afterwards, then there's got to be problems with the alignment. But it seems like you would experience those problems all the time, even when you're driving straight down the road. If it's pulling during breaking, you may have a semi-clogged brake line, or a stuck brake pad. Hit the shop man.

When I say heavy breaking I mean breaking hard from 90mph to 20mph. Thats the only time I feel any pull, a slight pull. I'll see if I can reproduce the pulling today. When I had the springs put on, the guy told me he prealigned it.
BigDaddyRich if ya out there, tell me how your springs are holding up after getting the install from Paisley.

If it occurs on flat, level roads, then it has to be alignment.

If your alignment is out, and your had your suspension mods for a while then you should also start to uneven tire wear.

Braking towards an intersection that has tire ruts - where each wheel rides in its own valley - can be very interesting, as being just a bit off center will have the car pull you further off line. The wider the tire, the greater the effect.

im guessen you mean heavy breaken,,,in the sense that when a light turns yellow and you floor it thinking you can get it, but then it is not possible and you realize it, so you slam your brakes to come to a stop at the white line....well in that case, my car does the exact same thing, and I have stock wheels, alignment and everything. i got khumo's on but it was doing it even with stock tires....though the only time it happens is around interesections and stuff, because here in jersey we have grooves that run parallel to the direction of traffic. these aren't small grooves, they are like 2 lumps in each lane running parallel to traffic, and during breaken if either side of the car tires, catch a groove it kinda pulls it a lil to the side, sometimes to the left and sometimes to the right...this is the only time that i have noticed this happeneing...good luck and let us know
peace!

I live in Connecticut and we have some uneven roads around here. From my experience this happens anyway. It isnt allignment or uneven wear, it is just the road conditions. I posted about this somewhere close to a month ago and i got responses saying people experienced the same thing when breaking towards intersections and such. I know a spot where it happens all the time, especially when i break harder. I looked at the road and noticed it had some ruts and bumps and concluded that the road made the car pull off track. Take a look at where this happened to you because i was scared the first time it happened to me too and it turned out to be the road, not the car.

What up Byron.... Take ur IS300 in for an alignment at either Englewood or Greenwich. try to get in good with the service manager and have him do it for you, under the table.

They hooked me up when I went in for my 5,000 service.

trust me the H&R drop throws the alignment WAAAAAAAAAAY OFF.. I got the before and after specs to prove it.
