If you can wait a little while, you can consider the new '02 Integra, to be called the RS-X in its current show form, probably to be called the Acura RS-some number at the dealer. It'll have a slightly detuned version of the S2000's engine, and that'll make it one kickass car with about 220 horsepower! (That's more than the IS300, BTW.)

Wait a week or so and you'll be able to see pictures and get a good idea of the specs from the Detroit Auto Show.

BTW, the Acura RS-some number will feature 1)higher technology, 2)higher performance, 3)better build quality, and 4)greater reliability than your current choices.

No... It'll be slower because it has no low-end torque. Looks at S2000. It has 240 hp(am i right?) but 150 torque. Also it is not fast at all under 6000 rpm before v-tec starts to kick in. I would buy integras if they had 6 cylinder instead of four. They've got no low-end torque. What is your price range Boyie? Maybe I can name some cars for ya if I know your price range.

Which allows the S2K to do 0-60 in 4.9-5.2sec. And the RS-whatever is a vehicle that isn't going to be burdened by the S2K's reinforced convertible platform and heavier RWD powertrain. But it will be detuned and I would expect a 0-60 in mid sixes.

Right. And that's why there's still about 3000rpm more to work with. I don't know it'll be the same for the RS-whatever, but it won't lose too much.

True. But that's also part of the reason why they don't drive like Saabs.

dont get a camaro!!
dat car is a gas-guzzling piece of american made crap...(nothing personal)
u should get a jetta..its more reliable, looks better, and is more practical...safer too...

but if u want to wait a while for the new Intergra(220hp - 6speed tranny YEAH BABY!!!)
i would recomend getting that..
u can neva go wrong with Japanese rides...
there always reliable, they look nice, and i guarantee the new RS-X will give u enough speed!!

Camaro vs. Jetta...no contest. Get the Camaro, as long as it's a Z. That way the only view most ppl will see of the car is Chevy taillights...

But, if you want a slab-sided car with no style or speed, the Jetta will do...

If you want to be the brunt of every other passerby's snicker go with the Camaro (no offense to the speed enthusiasts). It's a cheesy car, no denying. Fast, yes. That's where it ends. My advice is to drive the 1.8T next to the 2.8 six. You might be surprised at how quick the four is plus you can chip it very easily and still walk away with better performance and cash. You won't beat very many people from light to light but you won't get laughed at either.

well said brad. Everytime I see a Camaro I say to myself "Fast car...but that's it". No true performance. But the Jetta has good looks. No true performance. So I guess it depends on what your priorities are. They are two very different cars.
Personally, I'd get neither. How about a used Type-R?
