Can someone please explain to me what body colered tail lights are. It says not in silver or white, but what if i'm getting the black onyx?

If you look at the back of the car and see the tail lights you will notice that surrounding the red brake lights is a chrome background. Body colored tail lights, change the chrome part of the tail light to a body color to better match the car.

Is this the 2nd girl on our site?

Doesn't the designer have the body colour tail lights too? (Maybe the clear lights are too much for him?) I seem to remember there was a newspaper article mentioning that (the last Spring) in an interview. He has the 3.0L I6 too, not the Japanese 2.0L. I'm curious what kind of tunings he has on his own personal car. Maybe Altezza would know?
I think they should be body colored, they looked good until everyone put similar ones on neon's and civics. Also go to rod millen.com they have the covers already. Look very nice.
Currently as a dealer option in Japan, there is a taillight cover that goes over the chrome part of the taillights. This comes in all body colors, but is just added on outside the outer covers, so it doesn't look so good.

But I guess the one you're talking about is taillights with clear covers with body color inside instead of the chrome it currently has. Well, this kind of taillight is not on the dealer option as of now, but some backyard parts manufacturers have been making them (in Japan). But the rumor is that from next year's model, IS will have body color taillights except silver and white. When that comes out, it will be possible to order the new taillights as supply parts (usually ordered for repairs) and replace your current taillights.

It may cost a lot though. Probably around US$400 a piece (US$800 a pair). Its just a wild guess though.

I think the clear tail lights look better on a light coloured body like white or silver than a dark coloured body.
