I don't hate SUV's!! Heck I own a 4-Runner! But I don't think jacked up station wagons should be called SUV's!

The X5, Mercedes ML's, Outback and such, are sport WAGONS. The 4-Runner, Sequoia, Landcruiser, Yukon, Expedition, etc. are SUV's.

And I agree with you in that if you drive an SUV, drive it like the SUV it is. It is not a sports car. They're made for utility not stupidity.

Yo I hate X5's they suck. Im not dissen you X5 owners or X5 lovers. The only problem with the X5 and BMW are
1)Not to durable or reliable
2)All the cars look the same even the SUV'S
3)Not a good value
4)Sometimes the styling get really old
5)Styling is bland and boring
6)Interior is also boring
7)Sometimes BMW's put to much junk in the vehicle
8)The X5 has competition against the Tahoe, Denali, Suburban, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, 4 Runner, Eddie Bauer Expedition, and even the Grand Cherokee
Dont get me wrong the X5 is really fast for a huge SUV actually a Sport Wagon Peace

IMHO, I think the ML is a SUV. It's got the size for the cargo, and lower range transfer case for offroading... But it's still a POS made in US crap... no offense to anyone. But I think it's overpriced for a car with such build quality. Thought I heard they imporved a lot in the 2000 and 2001 model year

how can you sit here and talk about reliability and durability when the X5 just came out to the market? and wat's this not good value stuff? as for styling, its a matter of opinion. but i think x5 has great styling.

If that's true about the Merc, then I apologize, and there's nothing wrong with any of those vehicles. I just don't get how the manufacturer's are suping these cars up like they're sports cars. Then Billy Bob Fruitcake plows into someone because he thinks he's AJ Foyt!! SUV's shouldn't be fast. They're hard enough to handle when they're slow!

Am I to take it that your're comparing a manual IS300 with an E46 M3! Two completely diffent vehicles, with different price points, and different driving experience in mind.

Not disrespecting the IS300, but the M3 is in a totally different category. Please, no FLAMES.

I am actually seriously considering trading in my '99 BMW 323i for a '02 IS300 (5 speed).

ps Alot of my friends have an is300. I currently drive an x5 but think the is300 is a great car and wish they offered it with a 6 speed in the USA. I guess Ill get the new m3 instead. Anyway this is a great board, bye
