Someone needs to get a life. Anyone notice how much the new Civic looks like the 3 series? What goes around comes around. Notice no one copies the VW Golf though, wonder why?

Oddly enough one of your IS300.net counterparts has taken the time to point out how much the Ford Focus actually resembles the VW GTI. Also you should note that cool whip antennea on your IS is pretty much robbed from veedub's. As well as Mercury's Cougar...and the Focus.. hmmm.

The rear end of the current 3-series coupe is a rip-off of the '96-'00 civic coupe. I personally think the new civic's back end looks just like the mitsubishi mirage.
Hah! One of the ugliest cars on the road (Focus) has stolen from the VW. I stand corrected!
As for the whip antenna, I have no idea what you mean, but please don't explain, I'm really not interested.

Car manufacturers will generally copy any good designs.....The antenna for example, is indeed a good design and looks nice, therefore being copied and used on different cars is not a surprise.
Ford Focus???? They copied VW and look how it turned out!!!! Did an excellent job of patching it........ Could've been a nicer looking car......

While I enjoy bashing VR6, jokes aside I think the new and previous Golf look nice, especially the new interior. The Passat is at least better than Accord/Camry/Maxima, and while the Jetta is not great, it looks better than most compact sedans. VWs have character, as do BMWs, even Saabs & Volvos. I love Hondas, but they aren't much to look at (except NSX - Integra is ok, i bought one). Toyotas all suck except the IS300. Nissan hasn't made a nice looking car since the 300ZX, same for Mazda (since who knows what?). The Americans are hopeless.

It's too bad the ugly Focus copied VW.....otherwise it would be a nicer looking car......
The Focus is a nice car, however, I wouldn't call it "one of the hottest selling compacts this nation has seen". Ford has sold 220,000 Focuses thru Sept of this year. Ford used to sell 300,000 Escorts annually and so it looks like the Escort was actually more popular.

QuikVR6 is a dummy. The antenna he refers to is standard issue in Europe. Almost every car in Europe has the center mounted antenna. All this talk about whose copying who is getting tired. It's been happening and will happen as long as cars exist.

The Maxima is more reliable, has more power but it's ASS ugly, and anyone who buys it should have their eyes poked out. Same for all the other Nissan cars, though their trucks/SUVs look nice.

That VR6 guy has no idea what he is talking about. The first car that I can remember having a whip antenna is the M1 back in the 70's. I think that's way before VW ever put one on their cars.
Gish if we wanted to talk about ripping this off of that, etc, I think we'd need a new forum.
Hey webmaster tell your brother to get new shocks for his Mcoupe. Makes a world of difference (for AutoX).

Wow, I think the posts are kinda shift away from the original thread. Hm...are the pics for real?? If so, they that's too bad as BMW ain't gonna sell more Ti with that taillights. Have any of you have more pics about the new Ti?? Personally, I think Mercedes' new C-Class Coupe looks better!!
As for the Xenon, Falken is right about 750iL being the FIRST production car to have Xenon, though US didn't get it 'til 1994 model year(but still, it's the FIRST in North America to have Xenon headlights).
One thing I like to point out is that VW has been offering Xenon lights on Jetta/Golf/Passat for years now. They were never offered in North America due to regulations.
