I got ivory and i love it but it doesnt work well with my tints. I got 35% all around and it still looks too light even thought it is illegal just because the interior is light. I saw a blue IS with the black interior with 35% and you couldnt see in. From my experience the blue really heats up in the sun, more than any other car i have been in and if you get black i would imagine it would be close to unbearable to get inside after parking it out in the sun

I got mine SBM/Ivory with the maximum allowable tint by LAW. You definately need the tint here in Texas. Today high 102 heat index 112!!! How's that for hot.

PS I also have a matching blue sun visor.

I have SBM/black combo as well. Best combo for IS IMO, but that maybe just my taste
Yeah, it gets hot as hell when it sits in the sun for a while...
but i still love it coz it looks awesome!!

PS I, too, have matching blue sun visors

The ivory interior isn't that bad to keep clean. I have SBM with ivory and 2 kids, so I should know. The floormats are the only part of my interior that doesn't look new, and that's because they survived a winter in Minnesota (lots of snow, salt, and sand). Actually, I find that lighter interiors are easier to keep looking good than black/charcoal interiors because dust shows more on the darker colors. I guess if you are the type of person who spills a lot of food and drink then the opposite may be true.

I've got the ivory interior (it was originally the only way I could get the LSD out here in Cali!) and I've definitely grown to like it alot. Many people have complimented me on the color combination.

I agree about the floormats. I've found a good carpet/fabric cleaner that seems to work pretty well.

And I've got matching sun visors too! Getting ready to have the windows tinted this week.

Blue/Black. Didn't really have much choice, since I REALLY wanted one WITHOUT the moonroof...and of the half dozen they got in that way (mistakes; they'd been ordered WITH moonroofs!)there was only one blue one. Love it though.

Yup. I got the ivory originally because I thought the black would look funny with blue and that it would be too hot.

But, it looks great and the people I've talked to with black interiors have no complaints with the heat - I think it has a lot to do with the Escaine... And after having the Ivory, the lighter color shows wear a lot more than the black...

Anyway, I ordered a manual in Blue/Black, and I expect to be very happy.

I didn't want a moonroof either, but got my 2001 because they were coming that way. But I'm willing to wait for the 2002 to get it the way I want (Manual, Black Leather/Escaine package + LSD). As to why, I didn't want the weight or cost - and I like a clean roof up there.

Just personal preference. I plan on keeping the car a long time. Eventually, the odds are the seals will leak when they get old enough. And...if you look at the thread on squeaks...there's a lot of moon roof squeaking going on. I don't need it for ventilation. I usually run the A/C if it's warm. Have a friend of mine (BMW driver) who had a bird take a dump on her through her roof! Nuff said!
