this will be the first time i'm waxing my IS. on my other cars i have always used regular turtle wax or rain dance, but i'm going with blitz wax on the IS. i've never used a carnuba wax before so the question i have is: is it normal for this stuff to be pretty hard? i mean it's like i hockey puck in the can. now i know that heat from your hands can melt it and it does, but i just thought i'd check.

Since I'm one of the voices here always advocating Blitz, I'll jump in :).

Yes, it's purely a temperature issue. As you noted, body heat softens it nicely. I notice you both are from climates that even in May could be a little chill? I live in SoCal and it's always been warm-to-hot when I apply Blitz to my IS :). Under those conditions it's actually soft. VERY easy to apply.
