Well ive got a 2001 IS300 and the damn thing is clunking in the front end somewhere (sounds and feels like its in the wheelwells) when i brake at slow speed and corner at slow speeds (30km/hr and down). I know about the first backup clunk in the morning as a reoccuring problem with the IS but this noise in unrelated, although it sounds the same, it happens all the time.

Im going to take it to the dealer this weekend have it looked at.
Just curious if any of you know what it could be or have had simliar sounds come from your car.

Not looking for a definite answer as sounds are nearly impossible to diagnose.

The car is completely stock.

If it is what I think it is, many IS drivers have had this problem. Look through this thread and you will see what I mean

I would still take it to the shop and get it checked out, especially if it is still under warranty. The clanking noise happens during the first backup sometimes as you stated, but it also happens sometimes randomly at low speeds.

Your problem might be completely unrelated as you stated, but I hope this helps!
