my question is this? could one get this kit, and potentially purchase the "IS" for the kit seperately from lexus? Or even paint your stock IS emblem? Is this a good inexpensive alternative?

first.. you need to fix the topic title. it's ES300 not ES399

You can buy that kit then buy the IS from the dealership....you can't paint the IS to match the black pearl.

But, have you tried calling one of the guys at Carson Toyota...like Bobby, Angel, or Steve? I remember them selling the whole kit for less than $200 shipped. 1.800.90.TOYOTA . Goodluck!

i dotn know if they'll sell the "IS" piece seperat from "IS 300". i know theyre not attached but i thnk its packaged together.

painting wont work. you'll never get the color to match.

also you gotta be careful because some of the Lexus emblems are different sizes. i heard the GS "L" is bigger than ours. i dont kow about ES.

i actually have the es bp kit...the L is just a little bit smaller...but nothing noticeable...but the LEXUS is bigger by about half an inch
