I feel like an @$$ asking this, but I was curious to get suggestions on a new filter for my turbo car.

I'm looking for a "universal" type filter:

1. Fits on 4" inlet tube
2. About 7-8" base diameter and 7-8" top diameter
3. About 10" long overall
4. Preferably non-oiled
5. Geared more towards good filtration than "maximum" flow. I know this'll cost a few hp but I'd prefer not to let dirt/grit into my engine.

I used to default to K&N, and they have one that's sized about right, but it's been a long time since I've researched filters and I suspect there are some newer/better brands out there.

This will be placed behind the front bumper cover on the passenger side; with the fog light removed there should be lots of good cool airflow there.

Anyone have any intel on AFE? I noticed LS1techers talk about them a bit...

This one is a big mofo (8.5" diameter, 11" long) - not sure I've got quite enough room - it'd be close:

K&N and AFE are good filters. I couldn’t fault one or the other. I have a K&N on my nissan and it has worked great. I have an AFE air intake on my truck and it has worked great for the past 8 years. Got a replacement a couple times as well.

Only other company I would say to look into is Air Raid.
