On friday night, tical and I had met a friend of a friend of ticals who has a 2001 Yellow Type R. We were checking out the car under the hood and inside and then decided to leave. About 2 hours later, we were coming up one side of the pike, and on the other side was a yellow Type R which had crashed. I have some pics of the car, which were taken at night, so click on them to blow them up. You'll be able to see better. Best wishes go to him and his family. We did see someone being taken away on a board but do not if there was a passenger or not. It's still under investigation and no solid info has been found out yet.

Yeah Cruz.. I hope whomever was driving that TypeR makes it out ok, cause you may not be able to see from the dark pics, but the entire front of the car got knocked off and split in two. as well as crunched the hood up and into the shape of a pyramid. It (Pike) was fun though. I am currently reteaching my car's ECU. Maybe it's the 5Zigen? maybe it to free flow and I am loosing backpressure and torque on the low end? In any event... I have no excuses

I was not as fast as I anticipated, but still fun.

I hope that that crash doesnt bring out more cops and less racers this summer on the Pike. See you guys soon.

I don't know for sure if it was Tical's friend (he does know quite a few of the locals) but ... We only saw one yellow TypeR out there that night - who happened to be chillin with us in the first few pics where we are parked up in front of the stores. Then we saw it again after the accident. we couldnt get close due to cops blocking off the area, but... if it was who we think... Im sure Tical knows him (he was showing us his engine)

from what dan told me, it was a friend of a friend's type r. he met the guy the night before. what he doesnt know is that if the passenger was his friend. i also heard that they are in critical condition. correct me if i am wrong dan.

It was a friend of a friend of tical's.. and we had met him the night of the accident. We believe that there was a passenger in the car but do not know any info of the condition of the guys.

Rich, i'm not sure why your car isn't keeping up.. Granted your a bigger guy then myself, but i have extra weight in the trunk. Plus without the piggy back, it has to be the piggyback, let us know if you notice any differences... Don't let your woman boss you around, haha.. Dan and I were talking last night, about it, it is a possibility that it has to do with your exhaust. who knows.. I expect to have my azz wooped by you on the fast and furious meet. I'll have my new radio too by then, i just ordered it today...

yeah..cruzn is right.. although i read on another site that the passenger is in critical condition and the driver is in intensive care... if you look at the picture "pike4" u will see the integra in one piece on the left.. and the guy driving it is wearing the hat with the plaid shirt and short.....my prayers are with them.. and hopefully it wasn't my friend in the passenger seat.. i still haven't been able to get in contact with him...

Dude that sux alot. At least once a month there is some sort of nasty accident on the pike, it is getting dangerous. People have to start getting their heads out of their asses and staying under control. If you are going to race do it where the traffic is light with no weaving and keep you eyes on the road. I love watching those guys racing who just watch the guy they are racing. BAM all of a sudden they rear end the person infront of them. People wonder why there are so many cops their, look at what happens. These kids gotta realized they arent just taking their own lives in their hands, they are risking the lives of others around them. I personally go to the pike to cruise and see the other IS300s. I remember a little while ago when i was going down the pike a saw a bunch of fire trucks and cops on the side of the road. I wondered what was up. As i passed by i saw a bunch of fire fighters putting out this fire about 300 yards off the road. I figured it was a forest fire or something. When i read up on it, it tured out it was a celica that had crashed at like 80 mph. I was so far off the road and in such pieces i didnt think it could possibly be a car. They drive died and thank god he didnt take any other lives with him. Well that is me expressing my strong opinion on not recklessly driving on the pike.

There was a death from a street race in my area about 3 weeks ago. The other guy kept on going, buy later, turned himself in. They ended up killing 2 innocent people driving on the road! It's ashame, damn Fools!

I'm done studying for the GMAT - I got in to University of Connecticut Executive MBA Program and am now ready to hang w you'all on the pike this summer!
